Maruti Suzuki India Grows by 61 Per cent in August 2013

India's leading car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited has sold 87,323 vehicles in August which is 61% higher than last year in August 2012. After negative growth for months, August sales have brought positive tidings for the auto major.

In the mini segment including models M800, Alto A-star and WagonR, Maruti has sold 32,019 units (45.1% growth) as compared to 22,062 last year. The auto maker sales figure stood at 17,409 units (187.3% growth) in August 2013 for the Compact segment which includes Swift, Estilo and Ritz, as compared to 6,059 units last year. In the Super compact segment, Maruti sales volumes were 13,723 units, as compared to 3,085 units last year which is an impressive growth of 344.8%. Maruti has sold in the Mid-size segment a total of 348 units, as compared to last year's 447 units which is a degrowth of -22.1%.
