Ford India has sold 11,065 units (domestic wholesales and exports combined) in August which is 7% higher in compared to 10,352 units sold last year. The auto maker has been able to achieve growth despite economic challenges the auto industry is facing for a year now.
The auto manufacturer’s sales also increased due to its recently launched SUV Ford EcoSport, which garnered huge customer interest. Ford India sold 3,057 units (22% growth) as compared to 2,512 units in August 2012. In August, the company sold 8,008 wholesale units in the domestic market as compared to 7,840 units last year, recording a 2% growth.
“We’re grateful and thankful to Indian customers for their response to the all-new EcoSport. Despite the sustained difficult business environment, we have recorded our second highest monthly sales this year. True to our Global Brand Promise, we will continue to provide products with Quality, Green, Safe and Smart attributes that consumers want and value,” said Anurag Mehrotra, vice president of Sales for Ford India. “We appreciate our customers' patience as we work hard to meet the ever-increasing demand for Ford cars, and we thank them for their continued trust and patronage.”
Recently Ford celebrated crossing the 3 lakh mark by Figo and in the same event two dealerships - Kochi and Solan, were inaugurated to expand its network in India. There are 265 sales and service outlets in 142 cities in India. To attract more customers, the auto maker has planned to celebrate the festive season with exciting customer initiatives, starting with Chingam in Kerala.
