Volkswagen has announced its newly developed concept car – the Golf Sportsvan, at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which kick-started yesterday. The impressive compact minivan will complete the Golf family by mid of 2014. The auto maker is known for introducing innovative features to enhance driving experience for buyers on the move. The Golf Sportsvan will carry flexible & spacious interior and advanced assistance systems. And standard features such as Automatic Post-Collision Braking System, seven airbags, new electronic parking brake, XDS+, 5-inch touchscreen, a cargo cover and variable cargo floor. And the list does not end here, it comes with highly innovative assistance systems such as Blind Spot Monitor incorporating Rear Traffic Alert (first ever used in a Golf), which warns the driver in a blind spot. In case of a probable collision, an emergency braking function activates automatically. Other useful tech features are the Front Assist with City Emergency Braking surroundings monitoring system, a lane-keeping assistant and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).
Under its hood, the Golf Sportsvan carries six engine options with power ranging between 84.48 bhp and 147.5 bhp, and it is fuel-efficient by 19%, in comparison to its previous engine versions. The engines are as per Euro-6 emissions standard. Average fuel consumption is likely to be 3.7 l/100 km which is equal to 95 g CO2/km (best value in the field of compact minivans).
