Revealed in Jakarta, the Indonesian debut of the MPV follows the July launch of the Datsun GO in Delhi, with both set to be sold in Indonesia from 2014, said Nissan Motor Company CEO Carlos Ghosn.
We’re going to come with a product which is modern, extremely fuel efficient – it’s going to be the best in its category – and at a very affordable price,” Ghosn said.
“We’re expecting strong demand for this product.”
The GO+ is a 5+2 seater MPV designed for Indonesian families and comes with a third row. The design is pretty much what you get on the GO but being an MPV it has swelled up. The MPV design is neatly intergrated and though it is not a looker the GO+ is a clean and simple design. The GO+ has a length of 3,995mm, width of 1,635mm and a wheelbase of 2,450mm. It has a 1.2 engine with a 5-speed transmission.
Datsun is bettting big on the GO and GO+ and eyes up to 50% of total Nissan Motor’s sales in Indonesia by 2016 and along with Indonesia other markets that will also get the GO and GO+ include India, Russia and South Africa.
When launched in India it will compete with the Maruti Ertiga and others.
