The BMW 5 series GT is a more exclusive sight on our roads and that is because not many were allocated for India. As a concept the 5 series GT is just the thing we want as in India a majority of the luxury car-buyers prefer to be driven. Now it seems BMW will bring the 3 series GT soon. We think that is a wise move as many people will like the idea of a more comfort oriented 3 series.
The 3 series GT has four doors with frameless windows plus an automatically opening and closing tailgate. The new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo is 200 millimetres longer in total than the BMW 3 Series Touring (Estate) and has a 110-millimetre longer wheelbase plus being 81 millimetres taller. Despite that the new 3 GT looks like a typical BMW and looks handsome.
The real deal lies on the inside where the front and rear passengers have a raised seating position makes entry and exit significantly more comfortable. Plus, the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo has extra headroom. The big change is the additional 70 millimetres of legroom which will be a boon for many for sure!
Alongside that it has a big boot capacity of 520 litres plus has a high-opening tailgate which makes access easier. The practical bits continue with a 40:20:40 split/folding rear seat bench with folding head restraints and tilt-adjustable backrests. The design of the interiors is just like the 3 series sedan but as you can see it is a whole lot roomier.
Coupled with a diesel engine the 3 series GT looks appealing and we think this might just be the best BMW to buy for India.
