The thrilling 3rd Season of Mahindra Adventure’s ‘Spice Challenge 2013’ concluded in Cochin, which was conducted in association with JK Tyres. The ‘Spice Challenge 2013’ is one of the most competitive Time, Speed, and Distance (TSD) rallies in India covering 500 km tough terrains in 2 days.
The rally started at the estuary of Poovar and travelling through the backwaters of Alleppy on Day 1 and reaching Cochin on Day 2, crossing the green tea estates of Vagamon in rain and misty weather. Karthick Maruthi and Sankar Anand took the top-slot, Subir Roy and Mustafa holds the second place and Moorthy and T Nagarajan finished the rally in the third place.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Vivek Nayer, Chief Marketing Officer, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “In keeping with our promise of providing adrenaline pumping challenges, we are pleased to conclude the third season of Mahindra Adventure Spice Challenge 2013 in association with JK Tyres. Known as one of the most scenic and competitive TSD rallies, the convoy passed through the spice gardens of India while celebrating the essence of Incredible India in God’s Own Country.
Besides being a platform for budding rally enthusiasts, this rally also gave the participants the experience to travel to exotic places which only few other rallies in India can match up to.”
The rally was approved by the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI). The Spice Challenge 2013 had Car Open, SUV Open, Car OE and SUV OE in the regular category and others categories including Couples category, Corporate category, Amateur category etc. The rally carried a total prize of Rs. 5 lakh and had been an exciting driving event for Mahindra owners. Earlier in July 2013, Mahindra Adventure’s Monsoon Challenge Rally was organised by the auto maker in association with Apollo Tyres.
