The luxury car segment has always seen cut-throat competition and months after Mercedes launched its new E-Class it is now the turn of BMW to introduce the facelifted 5 series in India. The new 5 series carries some subtle updates as BMW did not want to change the design that much as this generation 5 series has been very successful all over the world.
The changes include additional contour lines for the surround of the BMW kidney grille and newly structured lower air intakes and at the rear there is an addition of an extra crease plus more chrome.
Inside the control display of the iDrive has a border finished in chrome and the storage has been increased. The engines are unchanged but now are more fuel efficient thanks to a raft of fuel saving technology on board. The 5 series along with the 3 series is the cash cow for BMW and the launch of the new 5 series will bolster BMW's stake in the hotly contested luxury saloon space.
