The price hikes continue and this time its Nissan's turn as it announced a price increase on selected car models to minimise the impact of rupee depreciation and escalating input costs. The earlier mentioned factors have been constantly affecting the car makers and after some time that have to pass on the cost increase to the customers. With the festive season around the corner car-makers are looking forward to some much needed increase in sales.
Back to the news at hand and the increase in prices are ranging from 1.4% to 2.9% and applies to most variants of Sunny, Micra and Micra Active. The prcie hike will be effective October 01, 2013 i.e. today onwards.
Mr. Nitish Tipnis, Director – Sales & Marketing, Hover Automotive India (Nissan’s National Sales Company in India) said, “The prices are revised to minimize the impact of rupee depreciation and offest rising input costs and raw materials costs due to inflation. The price increase is marginal and we are confident that our valued customers will appreciate our efforts to offer them globally renowned products at affordable prices.”
