Shown at the last Auto Expo, today Ashok Leyland has finally launched the Stile. The Stile MPV is a result of a joint venture between Ashok Leyland and Nissan. The Stile has developed to address various applications like people carriers in the urban and rural areas, hotel shuttles, taxi services, ambulances, panel vans, courier services, inter-city and intra-city travel.
While a lot is shared with the Nissan Evalia the Stile sports a different front end as the Stile has a completely new look while the rest of the car is pretty much the same. The Stile is available in both CNG and Diesel versions and has a wide choice of seating options of 2 and 3 rows.
The diesel is the tried and tested Renault K9K engine which is fuel efficient with 19.5 kmpl. The Stile has also a low floor and sliding doors which improves its practicality quotient. The interiors are of decent quality and share the same design as the Evalia.
Thus as you can see there is not that much difference with the Evalia. Prices for the Stile start at Rs 7.49 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi and it seems this is a cut price Evalia and will appeal for commercial applications but for private users it remains to be seen if it can fend off its rivals.
