If you have seen the number of launches taking place this year you would have noticed the rising demand for SUV's but along with that the needs and wants of the Indian car buyer have also changed. They no longer just want fuel economy and space. While the earlier mentioned qualities are still important the car buyers of India, today look for style, features and yes even performance.
The Toyota Etios/Liva have been the only Toyota offerings in the competitive midsize segment and there is room between the Etios sedan and the Corolla Altis. That room can be filled by the car that you see here. This is the Toyota Vios which is the sedan version of the Yaris hatch.
The upper midsize segment has been silent for long but with the new Honda City arriving soon, Toyota can also bring the stunning Vios. Launched in Malaysia a few months back the new Vios has style in bucketloads.
The front is the best part with a large lower grille and small upper grille with sharp headlamps plus of course large doses of chrome. It is longer and taller than the previous Vios and offers more space now. With a length of 4410 mm it is quite big amd will dwarf other midsizers. Speaking of space the new Vios offers lots of it along with practicality. The interior looks plush and well finished with very good quality. You also get a lot of features including touch screen system with reverse camera plus Bluetooth, Voice recognition etc.
When it comes to engines the familliar diesel unit in the Etios should do the job which will make it a tempting option though Toyota can also plonk the petrol engine in the Corolla Altis also along with that. We hope the Vios will be priced at Rs 8-12 lakhs.
