India’s largest auto maker, Tata Motors, has made its foray into Australia with the best possible vehicle from its model range for the county – the Xenon pick-up truck or ‘ute’, as the body style is popularly referred to in Australia. The Xenon has undergone changes and modifications for it to meet the requirements in Australia and it will be sold through 15 dealerships spread out over the island country.
The pick-up will be available as a single cab or a dual cab and customers will also get the option of the vehicle having either a 4x2 or a 4x4 driving configuration. The price for one of these is $22,900. The Aussie Xenon will be powered by a 2.2 litre DICOR turbocharged diesel engine and will get features such as dual front airbags, electric windows, Bluetooth and USB connectivity as standard and touch screen navigation system, reversing sensors and camera as options.
