The German automotive war in India has just heated up some more. Car firms from Germany have been launching updated or new models thick and fast. Not to be left behind, BMW has said that they will launch the updated version of their Z4 on the 14th of this month. This iconic roadster is known for its aggressive looks, long bonnet, powerful engine and mostly for the raw top-down motoring experience it gives.
This update comes close on the heels of the recently released BMW 5 series update. The new Z4 will have a 3.0 litre, 6 cylinder, twin turbocharged engine under the bonnet that produces 355 bhp and 450 Nm of torque. This being a BMW roadster, the power will be channelled through a 7-speed, dual clutch, automatic transmission to the rear wheels only.
The new Z4 gets a new set of LED headlights, new alloy wheels, a modified front bumper, new chromed turn indicators on the sides and a few other minor tweaks and features which set it apart from the older Z4 which it otherwise looks identical to. The exact pricing of the car is kept under lock and key but an estimate of it falling within the Rs. 70-75 lakhs bracket should not be far off.
