The name 'Qashqai' may not be familiar to us but worldwide this has been a popular SUV with more than 2 million produced since 2007. Nissan has revealed the all new model and it now looks much better and more is quite an attractive crossover. 49mm longer than its predecessor it has a much better stance and various design details like a clamshell-style bonnet, full LED headlamps and massive 19 inch alloys.
Inside the all new Qashqai is more restrained but has very good quality and an easy to use design. Thanks to a growth in size it has got an improved luggage capacity of 430 litres plus more legroom and shoulder room. The gadget list comes with a seven inch touchscreen with Bluetooth audio streaming and mobile phone integration as well as Aux-in and USB slots.
The dials have a five-inch TFT colour display incorporating no fewer than 12 graphic displays accessible on rotation which are customisable to display different Qashqai body colours. There are a range of petrol and diesel options with the familliar 1.5 dCi diesel and a more powerful 1.6 dCi engine. Also new is Xtronic transmission.
It will go on sale in January 2014. Meanwhile with the success of the Nissan Terrano, other segments can be looked at and the crossover space is highly lucrative for sure.
