One of the biggest problems faced by the owners of electric vehicles and indeed, a deterrent to actually buying an EV is range. Electric vehicles nowadays simply don’t have enough range to make driving a relaxed experience. Also, lack of charging points is another worry.
Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Pvt. Ltd., the company responsible for the Mahindra Reva e2o, has taken yet another step in green motoring by inaugurating an electric vehicle charging station at Bangalore international airport. This makes the Bangalore international airport the very first airport in the country to have such infrastructure. This facility will be offered free of cost exclusively to Mahindra Reva e2o owners, additionally with a 20% benefit on parking expenses.
Bangalore already has the largest number of electric vehicles in India and Mahindra Reva has installed over 100 charging stations all over the city such as malls, State Bank of India branches, Mahindra dealerships, automotive garages and Mom & Me baby care stores. The company says that these charging stations are strategically located and customers will have access to at least one every 5 kilometres.
Chetan Maini, CEO, Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. said, “We are happy to partner with Bangalore International Airport Limited and appreciate their belief in our vision of the future of mobility. Facilitating free EV charging at the airport will help customers to do affordable airport commutes from various parts of the city without any range anxiety. We look forward to working with the government and other entities to create an EV ecosystem for the adoption of zero emission mobility for cleaner and greener cities.”
