The much-anticipated Datsun Go hatchback, a car that heralds the revival of the Datsun badge, will go on sale in India early next year and it has just been made known that the new car will be sold directly through the Nissan Motor Company in the country.
The company will operate with existing dealership investors who are already working with the Nissan in India. This is to enable Datsun to establish a large sales and service network straight after its initial launch. This also will be the first time that a vehicle bearing the Datsun emblem will be put on sale in 3 decades and we had reported earlier on the forthcoming launch of the Datsun Go.
Vincent Cobee, the Global Head of Datsun, commented on the announcement saying, “Selling the Datsun Go and future Datsun models through Nissan Motor represents a natural evolution of the company’s operations in India, which are well recognized in the market. We are excited about launching the iconic Datsun brand in India and look forward to bringing a growing range of bespoke, locally-produced products and high level services to our customers.”
