General Motors India sold 6,214 vehicles in the month of November 2013 as against 7,238 units sold in the same period last year. The break-up in sales include 2,151 units of Beat, 1,347 units of Tavera and 1,206 units of Chevrolet Enjoy.
Commenting on the sales, Mr. P. Balendran, Vice President, GM India said, “As expected, the market has gone down drastically after a small spike during the festive season. Overall, the market continues to remain sluggish due to unfavorable economic conditions and we do not expect any improvement in the coming months. Unless the government offers a stimulus package to the struggling automobile industry, the market is unlikely to see any upturn before a new government assumes office after elections next year,” he added.
Recently the updated Chevrolet Cruze was launched and in the future we expect the new facelifted Beat to come as well. While the Beat diesel and Sail sedan do the numbers for GM India their product portfolio needs a compact SUV like the Trax.
