We love SUVs and rightly so as they are a perfect fit for our roads so when it comes to the Auto Expo expect it to be raining SUVs. We tell you what to expect at the upcoming auto expo when it comes to SUV launches and unveils.
Hyundai New Santa Fe
Now we have been expecting this SUV for a long time now and it will be finally launched early next year and shown at the Auto Expo. The reason for the delay is because of the launch of the Hyundai Grand i10 but now finally it seems we will get this handsome Hyundai SUV.
The new Santa Fe is a huge jump from the previous version and looks much better with Hyundai's Fluidic Sculpture design language sprinkling its magic on it. It will be more spacious though we will get the 5-seater version and yes being a Hyundai there will be loads of features on offer. Engine will be the same 2.2 diesel.
Mercedes will also display its much awaited BMW X1/ Audi Q3 rival the GLA at the Expo. Based on the A-Class a lot of the bits are shared including the interior which is no bad thing. It measures 4.41m long and is 1.8m wide. The GLA will also get similar diesel and petrol engines of the A-Class. Having tons of appeal this car will be the one to watch out for.
Mahindra Scorpio Facelift
The next gen Scorpio is still some time away but stiff competition from the Ford EcoSport and Nissan Terrano among others have meant that a facelifted Scorpio will make its way here at the Auto Expo. It will be a facelift with a new front end and more features to make it premium.
Renault Duster Facelift
The Renault Duster continues to do good numbers but the facelifted one will further give tough competition to the EcoSport and not to mention the Nissan Terrano. At the front the facelited Duster gets a redesigned grille with two chrome plated strips, new 16 inch aloys, DRL's, new tail-lamps plus inside you get a redesigned dash with more features now. A 4x4 version can be expected.
New Skoda Yeti
There will be the new Yeti at the expo and this is the facelifted model. The front is new and is more grown-up looking. It has a new grille, redesigned headlights plus now you get the option of Bi-Xenon headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights. At the rear you get re-designed tail lights now in moulded C-Design, available with LEDs as an option.
Maruti iV-4 SUV concept
Maruti will have not have the production version of its XA Alpha on display instead it will have the iV-4 SUV concept as its star for the Expo. This SUV concept made its global debut at the last years Frankfurt Motor Show and a production version will be revealed next year.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee and Wrangler will give SUV lovers a new option and make no mistake these brutes are dripping with presence and charm. For India the Grand Cherokee makes sense and it will have a V6 diesel. The proper hardcore off-road fanatics will take a liking to the Wrangler which will have a 3-door and a 5-door variant. The Cherokee with its beefy looks will attract many buyers and will compete with SUVs like the Mercedes M-Class.
New BMW X5
The first one to do justice to the word SUV is better than ever in its new generation. It has more presence now and the interior looks more luxurious plus it is more practical now. At first there will be the 3.0 diesel version offered here.
Toyota Etios Cross and Fiat Punto Adventure
Both these two car-makers have not been in the SUV race and now do not want to be left out so they will have rugged versions of their hatchback offerings at the Expo. Both these two are not off-roaders instead they will feature rugged styling to lure buyers.
On display will be this concept SUV from Volkswagen. The production version will be launched here in the future. Featuring chunky styling, inside out, this SUV will be important for VW.
