Volkswagen to Increase The Prices of Its Cars

Volkswagen, one of the largest car firms on the planet, has made it known that its cars will become dearer to purchase by up to 2.5% with effect from the 1st of January, 2014.

Volkswagen sells a very broad range of cars in India and over 150 other countries across the globe. Their model line-up includes everything from hatchbacks to sedans, SUVs and luxury cars. In India, the company offers the Volkswagen Vento, Polo, Beetle, Jetta, Passat, Touareg and the Phaeton.

Commenting on the increase in prices of its vehicles, Mr Arvind Saxena, the Managing Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars said, “We have been faced with constant rise in input cost over the past several months and have tried our best to absorb it. However, in order to maintain our quality standards that our customer expects from us, we have had to increase the price by a small percentage.”
