Hyundai is all set for the AutoExpo with the new Grand i10 sedan which will be actually launched on February 4th in New Delhi and then will be its star at the Auto Expo. However it is not the only car as the new Hyundai Santa Fe will also be there. Back to the Hyundai Grand i10 sedan and it fills a segment space that needed to be filled by Hyundai after the Accent. The compact sedan segment has huge potential with the Maruti Dzire and the Honda Amaze bringing in big numbers.
Hyundai might bring the Accent name back in order to differentiate it from the hatch. The sedan will of course share a lot with the hatch and expect the same interior and same diesel/petrol options which also will help Hyundai to price it very well.
Though a bigger diesel/petrol engine would have been great it needs to occupy the segment space below the Verna and not compete with it. Just like the hatch there will be the petrol automatic and no diesel automatic. The fuel efficient diesel engine will help compete with the Amaze and Hyundai will price it very competitively. Watch this space.
