The Mercedes-Benz B-Class has been a success worldwide and it has now crossed over 1 million in sales. The B-Class was first launched in 2005 as a unique compact MPV and over the years the car has found acceptability due to its unique design. Germany is the biggest market for the B-Class, followed by China.
“The B-Class is the perfect combination of sporty design, impressive driving dynamics and incomparable driving comfort,” says Ola Källenius, Member of the Divisional Board Mercedes-Benz Cars responsible for Marketing & Sales. “That’s what makes it so popular with our customers. What has been particularly noticeable with the current model is that we are reaching the most diverse customer groups, from families with children to active seniors.”
Dubbed as a sports tourer the B-Class is produced at the plants Rastatt in Germany and Kecskemét in Hungary. The second generation model has been very successful and in India the B-class was first launched before the Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
Next year will see launch of the Electric Drive and Natural Gas Drive variant.
