French auto maker Renault is reportedly poised to launch face-lifted versions of its sedan, the Fluence; and SUVs Koleos and Renault Duster during the next year. We expect the first face-lift to be the Fluence as it has already been seen around Renault’s production plant just outside Chennai.
The Renault Fluence, although it generally looked good, had a rather pursed-lipped appearance to it because of its thin front grille. This has now been ditched in favour of a more striking and attractive looking grille. This grille, with the huge and prominent Renault lozenge, will be the new face of the Renault family of cars. Mechanically, however, the car remains untouched.
Renault’s premium SUV, the Koleos, will also get a fresh look. The Koleos, despite being a very good car overall, did not see the success that its smaller sibling saw primarily due to the fact that it was a fully imported vehicle, thereby having a high asking price.
The new Koleos is expected to come equipped with 2 versions of a 2.0 litre dCi diesel engine. The company is also planning on launching the Lodgy, an MPV, in the future to take on cars like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the soon to be launched Honda Mobilio.
