Michael Schumacher Critical After Skiing Accident

One of the most successful drivers in the history of Formula 1, Michael Schumacher, is now battling for his life after a skiing accident at Meribel in the French Alps. The fall caused Schumacher to hit his head on a rock and he was immediately air-lifted to Grenoble University Hospital Centre for treatment.

Schumacher underwent surgery for head trauma and while it is unclear whether he still in a coma, the hospital issued a statement saying that he remains in a critical condition. The seven-time F1 world champion was at the resort for a private skiing trip and was reportedly on the slopes with his 14 year old son when the mishap occurred.

Support and good wishes have been pouring in for the German racer ever since the accident was first reported. Jean Todt, Schumacher’s former team boss at Ferrari, is currently with the family at the hospital. Numerous other personalities such as current and past F1 drivers Felipe Massa, Jenson Button and Romain Grosjean; tennis ace Boris Becker, Germany and Arsenal footballer Lukas Podolski, and many more have expressed concern and sent their wishes to Michael Schumacher, hoping for his quick recovery.
