This year in the luxury segment it was a Mercedes-Benz show all the way as the company embarked on its ‘Year of Offensive’. Simply put in 2013 Mercedes went on a launching spree and achieved success with its launches but more than just the cars launched it was the various brand experiences and focus on ownership experience that proved vital in increasing its share in the luxury segment pie.
This year in total there have been 8 launches of which among them were the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class and the crucial E- Class which has been the backbone of the Mercedes sales in India. In the SUV space too with the G63 AMG and the new GL, Mercedes tasted success. Mercedes has 58 outlets located in 32 Indian cities with 9 new ones inclding its biggest showroom yet.
In the luxury segment it is all about the ownership experience which is where Mercedes launched ‘My Mercedes’ program which includes National Remote Diagnostic Centre, reinvigorating the 24hours On Road Assistance with the addition of a fleet of 20 B-Class service support vehicles and also launching Mercedes-Benz Online Service Booking even through smart phones and tablets using scanned QR codes. Under the Extended Warranty Programme there is also the Extended Warranty Programme.
Of course Mercedes has been busy with its various brand experiences which is so crucial for a luxury car brand. Under the “Mercedes-Benz Performance Drive” there is the “Stardrive” “AMG Driving academy” “Corporate Star Experience” “SUV offroad experience” & “International winter driving”.
A few days back Mercedes had also inaugurated its ‘Centre of Excellence’ located within the company’s production facility in Pune which features a dedicated helipad that will be used by exclusive set of customers who want to fly-in and fly-out. Cool.
In the coming year Mercedes will continue its launching spree with the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the CLA among others. We can't wait.
