Upcoming Hatchbacks at Auto Expo 2014

By   |   31 December,2013

The upcoming Auto Expo 2014 will have quite a lot of small cars present to woo us and our wallets so let us take a look at all the expected hatchback unveils and launches taking place at the Expo.

Datsun GO

The GO will be there at the Expo along with its bigger MPV brother and has already created a buzz thanks to the roadshow started recently. This is a very important car and Nissan is leaving no stone unturned with this car. The Datsun GO has lots of space inside for a hatch and looks pleasant. There will be an efficient petrol engine on offer and we expect even the top model to be priced just below Rs 4 lakh.

Honda New Jazz

The earlier Jazz could not set the sales charts on fire despite being an excellent product but Honda is not giving up as it will be launching the new Jazz next year. This is a big hatch and is almost a mini MPV with its high cabin quality and long feature list plus it looks good. The main factor though is the diesel engine. This is a premium hatch that will be priced along the lines of the Hyundai i20.

Chevrolet Beat Facelift

Despite not been changed for many years the Chevrolet Beat still looks good but this facelift version looks even better. The front is changed with new bumpers while the rear gets new tail- lamps. There will be more features offered too!

New Maruti A-Star

What you are seeing here is the replacement for the A-Star. Unveiled as the Suzuzki A-Wind concept this hints at the new hatch that Maruti will unveil at the Expo. It will have an overall length of 3,600mm with being better looking and having more features. It will be more spacious and only come with a petrol engine.

New Tata Falcon

Tata will showcase the new Vista replacement at the Expo and it will have no similarity to the current Tata Vista models with having a new look interior and exterior. Tata Motors needs these new cars badly to rescuse itself from the sales drop it has been having. Thus Tata will market it with a new name and will have the tried and tested Multijet diesel engine along with a petrol.

New Ford Figo

Ford will have something special in store for us at the Expo with the debut of the new gen Figo small car. The current Figo is getting long in tooth and the new one will be putting Ford onto the success path like the EcoSport has done. It will be looking like the new Ford Figo/ka concept pictured here. As you can see it looks stunning and will have more features.

Fiat Punto Abarth

Hot hatch fans are rubbing their hands in glee as the Punto Abarth will be coming next year. Fiat has promised no less than 9 new launches including the Jeep brand and the Punto Abarth is one of them. It will be localised for attractive pricing and will have the 1.4-litre T-jet engine. This will be a proper hot hatch though it will be tuned for our conditions.
