India’s largest car manufacturer, Tata Motors, is reportedly developing a new version of its popular Vista hatchback called the Vista Tech. The production of the Vista D90 has been stopped and this new car is expected to take its place for the time being.
The Vista D90 was not received warmly and as a result Tata Motors pulled the plug on it. The vehicle is still available with Tata dealers and they are doling out discounts of up to Rs. 75,000 on the Vista D90 to clear out its stock. The new Vista Tech will be fitted with a 74 bhp engine with a fixed geometry turbocharger as opposed to the Tata Vista D90’s 89 bhp engine with a variable geometry turbocharger. The idea is that with this smaller engine, Tata can reduce the price of the car to make it more appealing to potential customers.
The Tata Vista Tech will get features such as voice guided navigation, a touchscreen audio system with USB, aux-in and SD card support, climate control and Bluetooth connectivity. It also worth noting that Tata is working on a new hatchback code-named the Falcon, to replace the Vista by the end of the year.
