Alongside the new Mercedes S600, the new C-Class and GLA 45 AMG has made its debut at the 2014 NAIAS. Both the GLA and C-Class are very important cars for the Indian market and both are expected to come later this year or starting 2015. The new Mercedes C-Class is bigger with an 80-millimetre increase in the wheelbase (2840 millimetres) compared with the previous model, the vehicle is 95 millimetres longer (4686 millimetres) and 40 millimetres wider (1810 millimetres). This means its more spacious now and the interior is more luxurious than the previous model too!
The design is the new Mercedes design language with a mix of the CLA and borrowing design cues from the bigger Mercedes S-Class. Bigger and better looking the new C-Class will give tough competition to the likes of the BMW 3-Series when launched.
Other than the C-Class the GLA 45 AMG has also made its debut. The GLA 45 AMG just like the A 45 AMG is the sportiest version of the GLA. The engine is a AMG 2.0-litre turbo engine which is the most powerful series-production four-cylinder turbo engine in the world. It produces 360 bhp of power and develops a peak torque of 450 Newton metres. This means it accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h (electronically limited). That is one fast SUV.
