Chevrolet took the hatchback world in India by storm when it launched its fantastic looking Beat. Unlike the boring, staid hatches we were used to, the Beat with all its sharp angles, rakish styling and never-seen-before design features such as the vertical rear door handles that were integrated into the window assembly was a breath of fresh air.
However, it has been over four years since Chevy launched the Beat and they will soon be launching a face-lifted version of this little hatchback. The Chevrolet Beat facelift, along with the new Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV, will be displayed at the Indian Auto Expo to be held at New Delhi at the beginning of February. The new Beat will get a slightly redesigned interior, a new front bumper, new headlamp cluster and new mirrors. Also expect Chevrolet to roll out the Beat in new variants. Since Chevy is a global sponsor of the immensely popular Manchester United Football club, there will be a Beat decked up in the colours and livery of Manchester United.
The Trailblazer is a humongous 7 seater SUV that has enormous road presence and yet manages to look cool. So it seems that these credentials should make it ideal for India and it seems it will provide tough competition to the likes of the Toyota Fortuner if launched, yes Chevrolet India has not yet decided to launch this though we think it should.
