The Auto Expo 2014 has had its fair share of gorgeous metal and here we list the seven that caught our eye.
Mercedes CLA45 AMG
The only with more than two doors but you can see it deserves its place for being simply stunning to look at. The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is a car we love and the CLA45 in pumped up AMG guise is even more delicious looking. The Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG has a AMG 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbo engine. Save up as within a few months you can buy one.
Is there any doubt why its here in this list? Gorgeous razor-sharp styling from the future, doors that open the right way and the fact that its also kind to the environment. Supercars generally like to guzzle fuel but this one does not. The BMW i8 has a plug-in hybrid system. So all that tech means that it has a top speed of 120 km/h with a maximum range of 35 kilometres. Launch by this year end.
Audi Sport Quattro Concept
Audi had a lot to show at the Auto Expo 2014 including the important new Audi A3 sedan but the best looking was the Sport Quattro Concept. Dripping with typical Audi styling this again a sportscar that has tree-hugging credentials. This is a plug-in hybrid drive with a system output of 700 bhp. The styling is low and wide with the Matrix LED headlamps looking very cool indeed.
Enough of hybrids now and time for some American muscle and they do not get much better than the new Corvette. This new gen model is just stunning and is probably the best Corvette yet. Certainly the most technologicaly advanced and most luxurious plus the most powerful. You get a all-new 6.2L LT1 V-8 engine plus tech like an electronic limited-slip differential, dry-sump oiling system, integral brake, differential and transmission cooling, as well as a unique aero package that further improves high-speed stability.
Jaguar F-Type Coupe
The Jaguar F-Type roadster looks good but as you will agree the coupe looks even better. There are V6 and V8 engines on offer and all of them are fast but the V8 growl is just addictive. The F-Type coupe looks the best from the rear with those muscular styling details. We like.
Honda NSX Concept
Honda is bringing back the NSX name and it will be stuck on a fantastic looking design like you see above. The NSX Concept will have a production version soon and expect it to be near similar to this design. The NSX has a mid-mounted V6 engine.
This is the cheapest of the bunch here but not the least fun as this has redifined the term affordable sportscar for the modern world. The basic are clear- revvy engine, lightweight, manual gearbox offered and yes RWD. It has 200 bhp and Toyota should launch this in India.
Hyundai HND-9 Concept
Yup this is a Hyundai and its stunning right? This is the HND-9 concept. It has an overall length of 4,695mm, width of 1,890mm and height of 1,340mm with a 2,860mm wheelbase. It has a 3.3-liter turbo GDi engine and 8-speed auto transmission with 368 bhp. Styling is brilliant with details like wide hexagonal-shaped radiator grille, butterfly doors, sculptural rear combination lamps and dual tailpipes.
Nissan Friend-ME Concept
This concept has a a low and wide stance with short front and rear overhangs plus you cannot miss the 'V-motion' shaped grille and boomerang-shaped lighting. It has a PureDrive hybrid powertrain.
