Like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class but want something sportier? Step this way as this is the new S-Class coupe. You saw the concept version and here is production version which we must add looks quite fabulous in a restrained way. Lets get the basics out of the way first.
The CL has now been replaced with the most luxurious two-door in the Merc stable. With a wheelbase of 2945 mm, the Coupé is 5027 mm long, with a width of 1899 mm and a height of 1411 mm. The design as you would expect is a lot more sleeker compared to the Mercedes S-class saloon with full-LED headlamps with their 'eyebrows' as daytime running lamps. The frame-less doors and stretched roofline are the highlights.
Move to the rear and the license plate has been mounted to a lower part of the rear bumper and of course the LEDs in two horizontal rows in the two-piece tail lamps look cool. Inside the interior is more sporty with a bolder choice of colours used and the cabin is just brilliant combining old-school charm with modern day appeal. The large two part wide screen TFT display is there along with the optional touchpad.
There are new interior colours such as Bengal red, saddle brown and porcelain along with ambience lighting with several lighting moods. The tech is there too with the Magic body control apart from the Active Body Control (ABC) and Road surface scan functions, the new curve tilting function. The S-Class coupe is available with a 4663 cc V8 biturbo engine with 450 bhp. It seems this is the perfect GT, Bentley watch out!
