Seeking potential in our Indian market, the legendary American bike manufacturer, Harley Davidson has launched their much ambitious cruiser, Street 750 at a jaw dropping price of INR 4.10 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike becomes the most affordable bike of Harley Davidson in India indicating towards the future strategy of Harley to dominate our Indian premium bike segment.
Harley is known for its high end cruiser bikes but after doing complete research and data mining in India, they have come up with this bike to grab the emerging young buyers in India. With localization of parts of Street 750, Harley has managed to price this bike aggressively in our market.
The bike is based on the new platform of Harley Davidson which they have come up with almost after 13 years. That makes this bike 2inches taller than its all elder siblings in terms of ground clearance and extra suspension travel. Street 750 features a circular headlight at front wrapped up in an integrated, circular cowl and fairing giving it a typical premium cruiser look with orange colored side indicators mounted on the top of its front forks.
Unlike every other Harley bike, Street 750 does not sport much chrome on it and still manages to look visually charismatic. The black colored detailing on this bike includes its silencer, engine and seven spoke alloy wheels which gels well with each other and gives it an up-market look.
The wide-spread handle bar features a round shaped analog speedometer and other important switches on it with contemporary rear view mirrors mounted on it. The stretched fuel tank of bike merges nicely with its wide and low positioned rider’s seat confirming you firm grip on this bike and easy riding in city conditions. The company’s emblem on fuel tank further adds to the sophistication of Street 750.
The bike is powered by a new Revolution X liquid-cooled, V-twin 750cc, SOHC petrol engine with an estimated power output of 53bhp.
This engine is mated with a six-speed manual gearbox with a gearshift pattern of one gear down and five gears up. Street 750 pulls out a torque output of 66Nm at 4000rpm confirming you strong low speed grunt and quick acceleration. The bike can reach a top speed of 150km/hr with staying under complete control thanks to its ventilated single disc brakes at both ends.
To keep costs under check, Street 750 uses a Harley belt instead of drive chain and receives power to its rear wheel promising you a fuel economy of around 20km/ltr. Rectangle swing arm with double shockers at the back, telescopic front forks and fatty MRF tyres of this bike give you great confidence around corners and at high speeds and keeps this bike stable on uneven roads.
It has wheelbase of 1511mm which is quite enough to offer you comfort while driving and makes it quite easy for you to handle this bike in city traffic. The light weight and compact dimensions of Street 750 gives it an advantage over all other Harley Davidson bikes when it comes to driving this bike in city conditions. Undoubtedly, it’s a well researched and developed product from Harley which has all the potential to make Harley the largest selling premium bike brand in India in the coming time.
