British auto manufacturer Jaguar had showcased their new sedan, called the XE, that aims for the section of the automotive market currently held by cars like the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes-Benz C class. Now the Jaguar India site is showcasing the XE.
This mid size premium sports sedan will go on sale in 2015 and it is the first to be developed on Jaguar’s new advanced aluminium architecture, on which a range of future Jaguars will also be constructed.
The firm has released details about the Ingenium family of 4 cylinder engines which will power the Jaguar XE. But it has also been confirmed that, at least in the UK automotive market, the XE will also get a supercharged V6 engine which we suspect is the same 3.0 litre, 340 bhp, supercharged V6 from the F-Type. The car might be followed up with an XE R version equipped with Jag’s screaming 5.0 litre, 500 bhp, supercharged V8 engine.
