Sticking with the issue of recalls after we reported yesterday that Maruti Suzuki might recall around a record 1.5 lakh vehicles, Toyota has announced that they will recall almost 45,000 Innova MPVs to rectify a glitch with a spiral cable fixed on the steering wheel.
According to the company, the issue could cause the airbag warning indicator in the instrument binnacle of the Toyota Innova to stay illuminated and could also potentially disable the airbag itself. The vehicles which will be part of the recall are manufactured between February 2005 and December 2008. This recall is a part of a colossal global recall of nearly 18 lakh units of the vehicle.
However, Toyota claims that the free-of-cost repair job will take less than an hour and that they will notify customers of the recall once they stock up sufficient replacement spare parts.
