Fiat India Automobiles Ltd (FIAL) has rolled out the 300,000th car and from its state-of-the-art Ranjangaon plant in Pune. FIAL is a joint venture between Fiat S.p.A and Tata Motors. The company also produces and supplies engines to other automobile companies in India like Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors.
The Fiat India Automobiles manufacturing facility is spread over 200 acres and is located near Pune. Over 4,000 highly trained personnel are directly or indirectly employed by the plant. Fiat India Automobiles Ranjangaon facility supports both the partners, Fiat and Tata Motors. The company achieved the landmark of producing 5,00,000th engine from its facility last year. The facility will also be utilised for manufacturing of some of the new products that will be launched in the future by both the partners.
The facility at Ranjangaon is capable of producing 1,60,000 cars and 3,50,000 engines annually besides 3,00,000 parts and accessories. FIAL currently manufactures the Fiat Linea, Grande Punto, Tata Manza, Indica Vista and Indica V2. The facility also manufactures Fiat’s 1.3 litre Multijet diesel engine and the 1.2 and 1.4 litre Fire petrol engines.
