As we know, the new range of highly popular brand, Pulsar is just around the corners in India. To make sure, they keep the market alive they have recently added new shades to their premium bikes, 180 and 220.
This is the second time that Bajaj has done this color mixing to these bikes. This dual tone colors scheme was initially launched couple of years back which worked and I guess that's why Bajaj is trying it once again. Three new colors namely saphire Blue, cocktail wine red and pearl metallic white have been added two these bike exclsusively.
Technically, both bikes remain same and that's the only disappointing thing about them. Pulsar 180 is powered by a 180cc air-cooled engine producing a power output of 17bhp and torque output of 14Nm whereas its elder sibling runs on an oil-cooled 220cc engine with a power and torque ouput of 21bhp and 19Nm.
Both engines are mated with five speed manual gearboxes and share their front telescopic forks and disc brakes of 260mm. At the rear,180 has a drum brake of 130mm whereas Pulsar 220 features a rear disc brake of 230mm and both bikes have nitrox shockers. Both bikes share same tubeless tyres at both ends giving them superb grip around corners. Ex-showroom prices of Pulsar 180 and 220 in Delhi is INR 70243 and INR 82,023 respectively.
