Ford India recorded 83 percent increase in sales in April, selling 13,297 vehicles in combined domestic wholesales and exports, compared to 7,270 units sold in the corresponding period last year.
Domestic sales stood at 6,651 vehicles in April, up 66 percent from 4,003 vehicles; while the company exported 6,646 vehicles, against 3,267 units in the corresponding period last year.
“Despite on-going business challenges faced by Indian automotive industry, Ford India sales have held steady in April,” said Vinay Piparsania, Executive Director of Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford India. “In the run up to the formation of the next Government, we remain cautious and watchful in anticipation of progressive policy interventions to energize the Indian automotive sector.”
Ford had also launched the 2014 Ford Endeavour last month which you can read in detail elsewhere. The sales increase has been due to the massive success of the Ford EcoSport which continues to rule the compact SUV space.
