Toyota's much anticipated car; Etios Cross is all set for its launch in our Indian car market on 9th May. The production version was first shown at Auto Expo 2014 earlier this year. Till now the car has already got itself good amount of bookings even before its launch.
The Toyota Etios Cross shares its body platform and engines with Etios and Liva which are already quite popular in the market. Unlike Hatch and sedan version of Etios, Cross will be a much rugged looking car which will differentiate it from others. Side Body cladding, increased height and certain styling elements add to sporty and striking appearance of this car.
As far as pricing is concerned, the company doesn't want to make it look like an overpriced product and thus will intend to price it around 60K more than the current Liva. By doing so, neither it will harm the market space of Liva nor will it find itself as its main rivals price wise.
Moreover, unlike Cross Polo which is only available with a 1.2 L diesel engine, Etios Cross will be available with a wide variety of trims and engines making sure it find buyers of every taste. The car will share its 1.2L and 1.5 L engines with its other two siblings. However, the 1.5L, 90 bhp engine from Etios will only be available on the top variant. The car will also retain the much popular 1.4L diesel engine with a power output of 67 bhp. Equipment list is also quite impressive.
The entry level pricing of this car could be as low as INR 5lakhs which will surely make it a car to watch out for. With aggressive pricing it can become a big threat for cars like Ecosport and Polo Cross.
