We have known for a while that Fiat will be launching an updated version of their Punto hatchback sometime later this year. The Fiat Punto has always been one of the best looking and one thing’s for sure, it will continue to be so. Fiat has revealed, quite by accident, the 2014 face-lifted Punto at a company event.
Something that is immediately apparent is that a significant amount of styling characteristics of the new Fiat Punto have been borrowed from the Fiat Avventura we saw at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in held some time ago at New Delhi; and that’s a good thing. The Avventura is a pretty good looking vehicle and the new Punto gets its headlamp clusters, trapezium-shaped fog light pods with chromed edges, wide front grille and so on. The interiors will also get an overhaul and should be similar to what we saw in the new Fiat Linea.
The engine line-up is expected to remain unchanged, which means the new Punto will have either a 1.2 litre, 67 bhp petrol engine or a 1.4 litre, 89 bhp petrol engine. Customers can also order the 1.3 litre, Multijet diesel engine that produces either 74 bhp or 89 bhp of power.
