Personally the Skoda Yeti has been a big favourite of mine when it comes to SUVs for its unique character and its wide array of abilities. Now Skoda will launch facelifted Yeti within a few months time (September starting) and here Skoda has merely improved what was needed to.
The facelifted Yeti is instantly recognisable due to its new front-end styling. You will find here a new grille, redesigned headlights with bi-xenon headlights and integrated LED daytime running lights. Plus the front fog lights are now rectangular and are now located further under the front bumpers. The rear-end features a new tailgate with new tail-lamps with C shape LEDs. There are new alloys on offer and worldwide four new colour options.
Interior Changes are more subtle compared to the exterior. You have a new three-spoke steering wheel and new interior colours. The facelifted Yeti also has Optical Parking Assistant, an optional rear-view camera. There is also the automatic lock and start system 'KESSY' . The Yeti has always been practical with fantastic headroom (due to design) and good legroom. Despite the compact dimensions taking all of the rear seats out gives boot space of 1,760 litres.
Skoda will continue the current engine line-up of the 2.0 diesels. The 4x2 has 110 bhp while the 4x4 model has 140 bhp. There will only be a manual transmission on offer with a 5/6-speed manual. We think Skoda should also launch the Yeti with the automatic six/seven-speed dual clutch transmission which will increase its appeal.
Skoda Yeti Price
The current Yeti range starts at about Rs 15 lakh and there will be a small price increase with this new facelifted Yeti. We think these updates make the Yeti more desirable without affecting its core appeal of being a talented SUV.
