The Volkswagen Passat has always been a brilliant vehicle in its segment, providing oodles of luxury and features and high levels of quality. Sometime in the latter half of this year, VW will release the 2015 version of the Passat and it’s not better than ever before.
From the sketches that have been released, the Passat seems to have taken on a significantly sportier demeanour in place of its no-nonsense, strictly business persona. Of course, one must bear in mind that this is just a design sketch and the final product will be more toned down.
But nevertheless; the car looks amazing with its low slung, racy profile, chiselled face, alloy wheels in the shape of turbine blades, futuristic light clusters, twin exhaust pipes, surface panels that seamlessly flow into each other and so on. The new Passat reportedly, will also be equipped with state-of-the-art features such as a heads-up display, a new high-tech infotainment system and a huge 12 inch digital instrument binnacle.
Powering the new Passat will be a newly developed 2.0 litre, turbocharged 4 cylinder diesel engine that delivers a very strong 237 bhp that will be connected to a 7 speed DSG dual clutch automatic transmission. The car may even come as a plug-in hybrid variant in some markets.
