The Audi A7, undoubtedly one of the coolest lookers of the automotive world, has received a face-lift and now looks even better. The modifications are not too significant and are more of an evolutionary step for the A7 Sportback and the more intense S7.
The car gets a remodelled front grille and bumper. But the most evident change at the front is the new but optional LED matrix headlight clusters. Walk round to the back of the car and again, the changes are minor – only slight revisions to the rear bumper and exhaust system.
The tail lamp clusters get dynamic turn signals that light up sequentially in the direction of the turn integrated into them. Step inside the new A7 and while Audi has not fiddled around with the basic shape and structure of interior, there are options of new hues and more exotic materials that the customer can select to personalise her/his car more. Other features include an updated MMI system, adaptive cruise control, night vision, Audi pre-sense safety system, active lane assist and so on.
Under the bonnet, Audi gives the choice of a selection of engines that include 2 versions of a 3.0 litre, turbocharged V6 diesel engine that delivers 268 bhp or 215 bhp or a more powerful 3.0 litre, twin turbocharged diesel engine that puts out 316 bhp. Transmission options are either a 7 speed or an 8 speed automatic gearbox. The S7, on the other hand, gets a 4.0 litre, TFSI petrol engine that belts out a massive 444 bhp. These new cars will hit the showrooms in Germany by the end of this summer. Expect them to arrive on Indian shores not too long after.
