New gen of Karizma R and Karizma ZMR were first showcased at the Auto Expo 2014 earlier this year. Undoubtedly, people are waiting for Hero to launch their new flagship models in India but as reported, these new bikes have already reached Hero dealerships and bookings have been started before their official launch. Booking amount for both these bikes is INR 14K with deliveries promised within a month.
The prices are now disclosed; not officially though. The new Karizma R and ZMR wear a price tag of INR 91.32K and INR 114.2lakhs (all prices, on road Delhi).
In the last few years, it’s for the first time that Hero has made significant changes to both these bikes particularly in Karizma R. If we talk about cosmetic changes, then both bikes now share almost same body panels apart from the full body fairing which differentiates ZMR from regular R which features a semi fairing as before.
Both bikes have similar face featuring a tinted vertical visor integrated with vertically placed dual headlamps which surely gives new facial identity to both these siblings. Clear lens indicators are placed on either side of this headlight which also goes well with the sporty styling of the bikes.
The newly added muffler, split seats and rear grab rails, extended rear fender and new LED tail light enhance the dynamic character of these bikes and make these bikes look much contemporary than before.
Hero has implanted the same single cylinder, 4-stroke, 223cc in these bikes as before but with increased power and torque figures. The new Karizma R gets the air-cooled form of this engine while ZMR goes with fuel injected technology. Karizma R now generates a power and torque output of 18.9bhp and 19.35Nm whereas power and torque figures for ZMR is 19.7bhp and 19.7 Nm respectively.
