There was no way that someone could not help but like the BMW X6. Its design was nothing like the conventional SUVs that we were all used to seeing on our roads. It had the gigantic size and road presence, but that swooping roof and that angular, aggressive poise. Good heavens, the X6 was one hell of a looker!
The Bavarian car maker responsible for this vehicle is now set to bring out a new version. The exterior styling still retains its character and has only received subtle upgrades such as a new bi-xenon headlight cluster with adaptive LEDs, new 19 inch alloy wheels, a new tail-gate that can operate automatically and so on.
In terms of power, the X6 has a selection of engines on offer – a 5.0 litre petrol V8 that develops 450 hp, a 3.0 litre 6 cylinder diesel that generates 258 hp. The X6 M50d will get a 5.0 litre, triple turbocharged, 6 cylinder diesel engine that delivers 381 hp. Power will be channelled to the wheels via an 8 speed automatic gearbox.
The interiors also see modifications and additions like a dual zone climate control, an auto dimming interior rear view mirror, Driving Assistant safety package from BMW ConnectedDrive, plush leather upholstery and 40:20:40 split/folding rear seats that allow the 580 litre storage space to expand to a colossal 1525 litres.
The features don’t stop there. The new X6 also gets a high end surround sound audio system from Bang & Olufsen, a navigation system with a touch controller, Traffic Jam assistant, BMW night vision, adaptive suspension package, parking assistant, BMW Heads-Up display and more.
