With Mahindra announcing the arrival of Sportz limited edition variant of their flagship SUV, XUV 500 in our market; people who were just about to buy this SUV are now a bit of confused.
This Mahindra XUV500 Sportz retails at INR 13.85 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is placed above the W8 variant which makes it INR 26K more costlier than the regular W8. Now, the reason why people are confused is that is it really worth to pay this extra bit of money for the Sportz variant over the W8 variant? Let us help you with that.
The first reason why you should go for the Sportz variant is the fact that Mahindra will only be producing 1000 units of Sportz variant which means you can enjoy the exclusivity of being one of the few owners of this limited edition SUV and believe us with those sporty decals and graphics; you will not go unnoticed on roads.
Moreover this variant gets red color treatment on roof rails, door handles, inserts on alloy wheels, around fog lights and features sports decals and graphics on ORVMs, side doors, bonnet, roof and tail gate which surely looks cool on this car. Apart from this, you will also get a rear view camera and leather seats. We the red colour may not be to all tastes the rear view camera is very helpful.
Technically, the SUV is similar to other variants and comes powered by the same 2.2L diesel engine producing a power and torque output of 140bhp and 330Nm respectively. This variant gets power supplied to its front wheel via a six speed manual gearbox.
This Sportz is certainly not for everyone especially not for those who look for practicality over exclusivity. This limited edition will appeal to those only who wish for something more in terms of styling and want to stand out of the crowd by spending just a bit extra.
