Volkswagen, one of the largest automotive firms on Earth, has released a teaser image that shows what the new 2015 Passat will look like. The car is under a cloth but some details can be easily identified.
The new Passat seems to carry forward the same blend of sportiness and dignified presence as its predecessor with its long bonnet, prominent front grille, slightly flared wheel arches and so on. The headlamp clusters of the new car gets the LED treatment. In Europe, the new Volkswagen Passat will definitely get a 2.0 litre, twin turbocharged diesel engine that puts out 237 bhp of power. Power will be harnessed by a 7 speed DSG automatic transmission.
The car will also be available to customers in a hybrid avatar; with a 1.4 litre, TSI petrol engine assisted by a 100 bhp electric motor. The new Passat can be driven solely on the electric motor for a distance of 50 km before needing a recharge. Volkswagen is remaining tight lipped on further details about this car at the moment, but we will have more in the coming weeks. Keep your eyes on this page.
