We first saw the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz as a concept vehicle at the Indian Auto Expo 2014 held earlier this year in Greater Noida. We knew that it would be toned down a bit (as all production versions are!) and that Maruti Suzuki would target the all new Honda City with this car.
We now have a few spy shots of the interior of this car. The car looks more luxurious than what we are generally used to from Maruti Suzuki with touches like chrome trimming in the instrument binnacle and dedicated dual AC vents for the occupants of the back seat.
Look at the dashboard of the Alivio/Ciaz and one can immediately see that the steering wheel bears a strong resemblance to the one in the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire. But apart from that, the centre console is different and looks upmarket. This car is reported to build up on the image of the SX4, which garnered appreciation because of its interior space and comfort.
Also, being in the same bracket as the new City, the Ciaz will get steering mounted controls, an automatic air conditioner, infotainment system and so on. The Ciaz/Alivio will most likely be launched in India towards the end of this year.
