Mercedes-Benz Set to Launch E-Class Cabriolet

By   |   13 June,2014

A lot of us felt that the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet was a brilliant car and not without good reason. This car put together quality and performance with top down, wind-in-your-hair motoring and the combination was exemplary.

Sales of this car were halted last year but now, the German car maker will re-launch it for Indian customers. The car has received a face lift just like its hard top sibling and it will be powered by a 3.0 litre, V6 engine that generates a robust peak power output of 328 bhp.

This engine, coupled to 7G Tronic Plus dual clutch, 7 speed automatic transmission is good enough to do the standstill to 100 kph dash in a rapid 5.3 seconds and hit an electronically governed top speed of 250 kph.

The interiors will stay mostly similar to the Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan but there will be the addition of Merc’s Air Scarf system, which is a vent built into the seat just under the headrest that blows warm air around the neck of the person sitting in the seat.

This ensures a degree of warmth when driving in chilly weather with the roof down and lowers the intensity of wind buffeting inside the cabin. This is a car for pure driving enthusiasts and one can expect the order books at Mercedes-Benz to fill up really fast!
