Mercedes-Benz Launches A-Class and B-Class Edition 1

By   |   24 June,2014

The Mercedes Benz A-Class and B-Class hatchbacks from the automotive firm with the three pointed star have been raking in the moolah for the company, mostly due to the fact that entry into the Mercedes-Benz club has become far more affordable with these cars. Mercedes-Benz has now launched special version of both these cars.

Called the Edition 1, they will be available only as a diesel variant for both vehicles. The styling changes are subtle; both Edition 1 cars get new alloy wheels, glossy mirror housings and ‘Edition 1’ livery to distinguish them from the standard A- and B-Classes.

Step inside though, and the alterations are more significant. A panoramic sunroof, reversing camera, power adjustable front passenger seat with memory function and, a rear armrest with integrated cupholders and ‘Edition 1’ insignias differentiate this special edition vehicle from the standard version. The B-Class Edition 1 goes a step further. In addition to all other goodies, this car also gets a rear seat entertainment system.

There is no difference with regard to power as both cars continue to have the 2.2 litre, 107 bhp, turbocharged diesel engine under their bonnets. Both these vehicles also have a modified suspension setup and raised ground clearance, which is a boon while driving such cars on Indian roads. The A-Class Edition 1 is priced at Rs 26.1 lakh while the B-Class Edition 1 is priced at Rs 28.75 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). There are three colour options - silver, white and red. More importantly, there are only 100 units available. So, if you want one, better hurry!
