Italian car manufacturer Fiat might be launching the facelifted version of their Punto hatchback this month. This car will be called the Fiat Punto Evo and it will be hitting our shores after considerable changes both on the interior and the exterior.
Fiat has given the Punto Evo a new front grille, bumper and headlights. The front grille has a thin chrome surround. Chrome is also used generously around the foglamp housings. The rear also has seen some design changes but it isn’t as extensive as the front. The rear bumper also gets chrome surrounds for the rear foglights and a strip of chrome runs between them, which gives the rear of the car a planted and classy look.
Step inside and one can be forgiven for thinking that they are sitting inside the 2014 Fiat Linea. The interiors of the Punto Evo are almost identical to that of the Linea apart from the fact that it has ditched the beige bits in favour of an all black colour scheme. This new car also gets a dedicated AC vent for passengers in the rear seat, becoming only the second hatchback in India, after the Hyundai Grand i10, to offer this feature.
In terms of power, the Fiat Punto Evo will get 2 versions of the tried and tested 1.3 litre, 4 cylinder diesel engine that produces either 74 or 89 bhp, a 1.2 litre petrol engine and a 1.4 litre petrol engine; all of which will be hooked up to a 5 speed manual transmission.
