Fiat Punto which will be named as Punto Evo will be soon launched in our market. Punto has always been one of the most spectacular looking hatchbacks in our market and the latest one looks even more promising.
The exterior changes in the car includes re-designed front and rear profile. The front end comprises of bigger chrome front grille, chrome surrounded fog lights and elongated headlights which makes it looks quite fresh and appealing. Slight changes at the back includes re-profiled rear bumper with chrome garnishing and clear lens tail lights.
Addition of new alloy wheels and ORVMs integrated with side indicators further distinguish Evo from its previous generation. The changes continues inside as well with its newly appointed dashboard with improved plastic material and texture. It's quite similar to what we have seen in the new Linea. The aura further enlightens with its two tone interiors however the sport variant will be available with all black interiors.
You will also find Punto Evo equipped with rear a.c vents and new touch screen audio system with Bluetooth connectivity and steering mounted controls. Large instrument dials, solid three spoke steering wheel and spacious front seats are also some of the key characteristics of this car.
Engines will be carried forward from the previous generation which will have a 1.2L petrol and 1.3L diesel engine. The powerful 1.4L T-Jet from Linea may also be implanted later in this car to give competition to the 1.4L petrol version of i20. The diesel engine will be be available in two states producing 75bhp and 89 bhp respectively, both equipped with a five -speed manual gearbox.
Looking at the changes made to this car, the new Punto looks all set to be a sales success but Fiat needs to price this one right.
