The premium hatchback segment will see some action as just after Volkswagen has launched the new Polo, Hyundai will launch its new i20 in a few months time. Fiat will also be introducing its new Punto very soon plus some more cars are coming.
The Hyundai i20 has been a big success and the new one which will be called as Grand i20 will build on its many strengths. The new i20 is bigger, has more space and amazingly will have even more features than before.
The big change is the new styling. Gone is the rather soft design of the current Hyundai i20 replaced by a sharper look inspired by the smaller Hyundai Grand i10. The front-end has the Grand i10/Xcent lower grille coupled with sleeker headlights but the rakish rear styling is more aggressive and gives the car more presence. The interiors will be stuffed with even more features which will be first in class plus there is more space now. Engine options will be the same as before.
We expect its launch in early September and prices might creep up but there is no doubt that the new Hyundai Grand i20 is an impressive product. Rivals beware.
